Welcome to the first of the pro-tips series! I’m opening up my box of tricks and helpful hints to make this course more fun and applicable to your day to day design practice. In this section, we’ll focus on the basics of Squarespace.
Pro-tips will be an evolution, I’d recommend you check in with this for updates on new features, and even more advanced techniques going forward.
For the first pro-tip, we’re leaning into techniques and tips to help you design like a pro. I’ll be sharing some quick design inspiration and keyboard shortcuts, by showing you how I built the resource menu with accordion blocks and how you can use a table block for creating tables.
You’ll learn how to use custom CSS to make certain elements vertical and add a little razzle dazzle to your site, it’s fun!
For the next pro-tip, I’ll be showing you how to add a clean and minimal Substack signup form, as an alternative to Squarespace’s built in newsletter signup form. It’s a good look at how Squarespace can integrate with other third party services and how you can get creative with the platform.
