Welcome & Introduction

(upbeat music) - Hi, I'm Zach Grosser. I'm the owner and managing director of Zacht Studios. We're a full service design agency that focuses on helping companies tell their story and fundraise. What that looks like is a lot of presentation design, content design, and other forms of visual storytelling. I have a background in presentation design from working in the Apple Store, teaching Keynote among other software, to working as the communications lead and presentation designer at Square, the payments company that's now Block.

And then I moved to Europe and started working for Figma as the design education manager and European community lead. After that, I freelanced and was helping companies do their pitch decks, and that turned into an agency. So I've worked across freelance agencies and in-house, and our agency's really exciting in that we work across nine hours of time zones in five different countries. And I really love my team and our clients.

This course is on making presentations and having them be more persuasive as well. We wanna do that because we want our ideas to be compelling. We want our presentations to look great. We want everything to be nice and concise and clear. In this course, you'll also be creating a presentation. This is a project-based experience, so I'll be introducing core concepts, then I'll be putting them into a practice in my own presentation that you can follow along and create your own.

By the end of this course, you'll have created your own presentation and feel really confident and comfortable presenting it. Some of the core concepts that we're gonna talk about are storytelling, information density and visual design. And then on the second part, we're gonna be focusing on making that all more persuasive, focusing on the audience, making your presentations more memorable, and building the confidence and comfort to present live.
