- [Rik] Welcome to chapter five. Chapter five is called Zanzur
and it's the first time we're gonna delve into 3D. Now, in previous projects,
we've been mainly working in 2D. We've been working with
texture operators called tops and Channel Operators called chops. But when we want to go into 3D, we're gonna add a little bit more depth. So we need to use some
more operator types. We're gonna be using things
like surface operators to give us shapes.

We're gonna be using things like materials to give those shapes a kind of look. But we also need some
other things as well, such as a camera, some
lighting, some geometries, and we're gonna take them all together and turn them into a image or
a video, basically a texture. So we're gonna be working
on how do we take 3D shapes and turn them into a final
piece of flat artwork in 2D. This is the main thing
we're gonna be working on in this project. These shapes can be
lots of different types.

It can be inbuilt into TouchDesigner but we'll also import our own shapes from external places as well.

Put your 3D glasses on, it's time to get deep. This project was named after Alexander (Xan, for short) and the logic term, XOR (exclusive "or", for long), which is often used in switches.
