Welcome to Negative Space

(upbeat music) - [Rik] Welcome to Chapter 7. Chapter 7 is called, Negative Space, and in this project what we're going to be working on is a large number of shapes. Rather than doing it all ourselves, and making it very manual and repetitive, how to make it simple. Well, what we're going to be using is the idea of instancing. Instancing is kind of similar to a for looping code in, or a copy and paste, and essentially, what we're gonna do is add hundreds or thousands, or even tens of thousands of shapes very, very easily.

All these shapes will build up to make some very complex art, but we'll make it in a simple way.
